wishful refrain aria heard the news about the eggs when the rider told her dad, and she was the first at the pit to look at the eggs, besides the staff and the rider. a clutch! maybe she'd get bonded with one of the eggs, and maybe one was a gold. after all, the greenette was just the perfect girl to get a gold - actually, the only one available for one to bond to - and her excitement was riding high as she looked at the eggs. aria was still looking at them after most of the people dispersed. it was a lot quieter, and the mother was a teensy bit less protective, so the greenette could get a tad closer to the eggs. in the darker light, the white circle of specks on the black egg were quite visible. giving it a neat look, but what was more interesting were the two white eggs at the end. aria was just about to give them more thought when her dad came walking up, naturally. that didn't mean she was unhappy to see him, but peace was really nice right now. still, it was probably a good idea to talk to her dad. "uh, hi, dad. you got any guesses on what the eggs will hatch into? i have a feeling we might get some rare ones in this clutch," aria said, smiling a little. DAMIEN KLEIN |

 Aria was ever the curious one. Then again, all his children had a wild, whimsical streak to them that he attributed to himself. As a child Damien was a wild brat and even to this day he hated taking on his royal duties. His attendants and wife were generally the ones to force him into his office for work, but there were times he'd be able to sneak out for...other things. Today happened to be one of those times, since the Red had placed her eggs on the sands.
Damien smiled as he walked toward the greenette who was watching the eggs intently, as if something were about to pop out. Of course it would be weeks before they hatched, but it was still a fun thing to do; watching the eggs for any sign of movement. He'd hoped there would be two Golds in this clutch - one for both of his daughters - but only time could tell.
"Ahh, my sweet Aria. It's good to see you too." Damien smiled warmly to his daughter, ruffling her hair before turning his eyes to the eggs in question. "I've seen all sorts of eggs in my time, but a few of these are new to me. Maybe we'll get a White this time around? You know, there has only been one White ever recorded. It would fill my heart with joy to see more of their kind flying our skies, don't you agree?" you got me begging for love © |

wishful refrain whites? well, aria had heard stuff about the one, and more would be pretty cool. you could paint it like a canvas, and it would be small enough that if she got bonded with one the princess could have it sleep in her room in the castle, so she wouldn't have to move to the dragonrider's quarters. that was aria's biggest thing about dragons besides what type she ended up with - she didn't want to move out of the castle. and she also really wanted something rare for a dragon, something fit for a princess (or queen) that would make people go "ooooh". but there were more pressing matters at hand - her dad had ruffled her hair, and while she liked it was now messy. it looked like she had a bedhead. so aria spit into her hand, and smoothed her hair down. "it'd make me pretty happy if some whites hatched in this clutch! maybe if one bonded with me, that would be nice," aria said, a big grin. but she figured now was a good time to ask a question. "um, dad, if i get bonded with a dragon from this clutch, do i have to move to the dragonrider's quarters? i wouldn't really want to, i like my room." funny how this was an important question to her. Was that really what she was worried about? Damien tried to stifle a laugh, but in the end he couldn't help but chuckle at her worried expression. She didn't seem completely worried...just slightly put off about the whole ordeal. "Well, normally members of the royal family stay within the castle. They have special trainers who come to them to help teach them how to fly and how to fight if the time comes."
He paused, rolling his eyes at the spit that was used to smooth her hair out. It wasn't very ladylike; what were those maids worth if they couldn't teach her how to be civilized? Then again, he'd been a wild youth, so he couldn't really tell her to be anything other than herself. "So in the end, no natter what you Imprint, you'll be able to stay in the castle and have your own room. Sound fair enough?"
At this he laughed again, placing his hands on his hips. "What do you think you'd like to become bonded with more, a White or a Gold? Maybe we could get a Tan from this clutch if we're lucky." you got me begging for love © |

wishful refrain decisions, decisions. well, wouldn't she be lucky just to get a dragon anyway? it wasn't guaranteed that aria would get one, even though all royals had gotten a dragon in the past. aria figured she should weight the benefits and issues of each before replying. golds were large and rare, so that would be cool, but you couldn't make them sleep with you. whites, on the other hand, were so tiny they could only hold one person, but they could stay with you basically anywhere. "okay, uh, i guess i'd be okay with either? they're both pretty cool," aria said, shrugging. remembering that she could stay in the castle, she relaxed a lot. her room was really warm and cozy, and she didn't want to move out. "so, i get to stay in my room, but where will my dragon stay? don't the bonded pairs usually stay right near each other or something?" the greenette asked, not actually sure where they stayed. "oh yeah, does having special teachers mean that i learn more than the other riders?" she continued, wondering where she would get a better education in dragon stuff. the answer would probably be with special teachers, but she wanted to be sure.
