Dragons come in a variety of colors on Woodkeep. The larger the dragon, the more powerful they are. Color dictates the size of the dragon; some are rare to find while some can be found in each and every clutch. Generally, baby dragons start out the size of small horses. When they stand, they come to a height of about five feet. That's the average size; some colors can be larger or smaller, depending on the dragon themselves. Each one is unique. They reach full maturity in their fifth year of life, meaning they grow very large very quickly. Generally the average mature dragon stands at fourteen feet tall with at least a wingspan of six feet. Now, the colors are what stand out when it comes to dragons. They are ranked from the rarest to the most common, starting with Golds and ending with Browns. Below is a list of every color and their general personality types and how rare/common they are in a clutch. As for a lifespan, dragons can live twice the age of a regular human. This rarely occurs, however, because a dragon will kill itself once its human bonded partner dies. If a dragon dies of sickness or other causes while its human counterpart is still alive, said human can still be Imprinted upon again. However, most humans end up offing themselves or live in a constant state of depression because their special bond has been disconnected forever. |

Golds are the top of the food chain when it comes to dragons. The largest recorded Gold had a height of twenty feet and a fourteen foot wingspan. They are the largest of all dragons, and they only Imprint on females. Generally, only the females of the royal family have Imprinted Golds, as no one other than they have become goldriders. Their personalities are generally the same; most Golds know they are the shit and want to be treated better than anything else on the planet. They only Imprint upon the best, and only want the best throughout their entire lives. They're picky, but very loving toward their bonded human. Golds are always female, and always have the best clutches of eggs. However, it is rare to find just one Gold egg in a clutch. And when a Gold egg is found, the royal family are generally the only ones allowed to touch it. GOLDRIDERS CANNOT BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Bronze dragons are always male, and are the second largest dragons to be recorded. Generally most Bronzes have a height of eighteen feet with a wingspan of twelve feet. Just like Golds, Bronze dragons are quite rare and so far have inly Imprinted upon males from the royal family. Generally Bronzes only mate with Golds, but even in their clutches it is rare to find a Bronze dragon egg. Their personalities are completely opposite of Golds; they are very protective of their bonded human and their family. They have an almost knightly attitude, meaning they are very self-sacrificing and loyal to the people around them. They are brave, chivalrous and aren't afraid of anything they know they can handle. These are the best dragons to ride into battle, or so it is said. BRONZERIDERS CANNOT BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Silver dragons are third in the rank of dragon heights. They generally stand at a height of fifteen feet with a wingspan of eight feet. Silvers aren't as rare as Golds or Bronzes, but there aren't as many of them as there are Greens and Browns. In a clutch, there might be up to three silvers maximum. Sometimes there aren't any as all. It's a toss up with these types. They will Imprint on both males and females. Their personalities can go from haughty like a Gold to sweet and caring. It really depends upon the dragon itself. Some Silvers have been known to snap at anyone who comes close to it or its bonded human, while others have been known to love everyone and everything around them. It's also known that Silvers tend to have better egg clutches than Golds. SILVERRIDERS CAN BE MADE AT THIS TIME. |

Next on the list are Red dragons. Reds average at about fourteen feet tall with a seven foot wingspan. They only Imprint on males, but so far any male can be claimed by a Red. They seem to have no preference, so long as their bonded human is male. Reds are more common than Golds, Bronzes and Silvers, but aren't as common as Blues and Greens. Their color can also change as well; some Reds are deep in color, while some have been known to seem a pinkish in hue. As for their personalities, they are a rather aggressive type. They tend to be the ones who fight other dragons at birth for a bonded human, and they generally win in a fight. They have a better muscle tone than their peers because Reds tend to get into the most fights. Reds are hot-tempered and won't hesitate to attack someone who even looks at them or their bonded human the wrong way. REDRIDERS CAN BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Oranges come after Reds, but they're almost the same height. They're about thirteen feet tall with a six foot wingspan. Their skin rivals the brilliance of the sun itself, hence why Oranges are some of the most sought-after by poachers for their hide and scales. Oranges are somewhat common, and can Imprint on both males and females of any background. Just like their scales, these dragons have bright personalities. They seem to always be happy, and are super optimistic about life. They tend to Imprint on those who are either just like themselves or those that need a bit of cheering up. Oranges have been known to Imprint on the worst of people, only to bring those people back from the brink of insanity. ORANGERIDERS CAN BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Blues are one of the two most common colors of dragons to see on the island. They are around the average height, standing at thirteen feet tall with a six foot wingspan. So generally they're the same size as Oranges for the most part. They can Imprint on both males and females, regardless of their backgrounds. Blues have very mellow personalities. They are calm about everything and seem to exude tranquility wherever they go. Their riders tend to mirror their own personalities; people who can have their head even in the worst of situations. But then again, Blues have also been known to Imprint upon those who aren't so calm, so it just depends on the dragon's preference. BLUERIDERS CAN BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Greens are the same height as Blues and Oranges. They generally have a height of thirteen feet and a wingspan of six feet. Like Blues, they are the most common dragon color to be found. They can also Imprint on both makes and females, regardless of background. Unlike their counterparts, however, Greens tend to be the fastest fliers of all. These dragons are very down to earth. It's hard to get them to truly worry over anything, but at the same time they can be considered lazy if not trained every day. They have a lot of potential, but only if they grow to want to learn and explore the world around them. How they grow is completely up to how their bonded human trains them. Purples are next in line for height. They have a standing height of twelve feet with a wingspan of five feet. Purples are semi-common and can only Imprint on females. They have small clutches, and some have been recorded to be mostly dud eggs. It's still unsure why. These dragons are very wishy-washy. They want to be treated like Golds on some days, but on other days they're just as chill as a Blue. It's a total toss up with their personalities, and it just depends on the dragon once they hatch. Sometimes they have personalities that match their partners, while sometimes they can be the complete opposite. PURPLERIDERS CAN BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Blacks are a bit more rare to see than Oranges, but aren't as rare as Golds. They have a general height of eleven feet tall with an six foot wingspan. Blacks tend to have longer wings than their brothers and sisters, yet they aren't considered the fastest fliers of their kind. This is still unknown as to why. Black dragons can Imprint on both males and females, regardless of background. These dragons prefer the night time over the day time. It's said that Blacks are more susceptible to sunlight because of their black hide, which causes them to heat up faster than other colors. They prefer to stay indoors while the sun is out, sleeping the day away in their homes. But at night time they come alive, and they thrive with their enhanced night vision. All dragons have night vision, but Blacks have the best night time sight. They tend to have very routine personalities, and they don't really care about the personalities of those they Imprint. Cyan dragons are the same size as Blacks. They have a height of eleven feet, but have a smaller wingspan at four feet. They are closest related to Blues, and are actually a mutation of a Blue dragon's clutch. They only appear when a Blue dragon clutches, making them semi-rare. The can Imprint on both makes and females, regardless of background. Not much is known about Cyans and their personalities. Only seven have ever been recorded, as they are mutations of a Blue dragon. So far they have the temperament of a Blue, but at times they have been seen to act like Golds or even Bronzes. Once againm their personality truly depends on the dragon once it is hatched. Tan dragons are one of the newer colors of dragons to be produced on Woodkeep. Only three have ever been recorded, as they are a mutation of a Gold's clutch. Tans have a recorded height of ten feet with a wingspan of five feet, making their wings a bit too long for their body. They seem to Imprint on both males and females, but the three who Imprinted in the past were the youngest humans to ever Imprint in dragonrider history. As such, Tans have a very childlike, playful personality. They would rather play games and shirk responsibility than to actually learn and respect authority. They're awkward at first, and if not taught correctly, they might never be able to fly properly. Having a Tan is definitely a hassle, but a good hassle. TANRIDERS CANNOT BE CREATED AT THIS TIME. |

Whites are the smallest and rarest of all dragons. There has only been one recorded, even though there have been many White dragon eggs on the sands. The one White dragon recorded was only seven feet tall with a four foot wingspan, making it hard to fly with more than one person on its back at a time. In fact, the White wasn't expected to live for as long as it did. Since Whites are so rare, it is unknown if they Imprint on both genders or not. Their personalities are unknown as well. The one White recorded was said to be a mutation, and it had a happy-go-lucky personality overall. Our dragons on site have a certain look to them. They have scales and four legs with wings protruding from their backs. They're more lizard-like than bird-like, although some have been known to have more pointed snouts than their brothers and sisters. Below you can find links of what each color generally looks like, but remember that each dragon hatched has their own special hue and markings that make them one of a kind. |
