mentor/friend. while someone of a more adult age would be nice, i'd rather they be a peer -- someone near her age or slightly older to kind of show galatea the ropes of supporting herself and how to perhaps deal with unsavory merchants and the like. she's a little too naive for her good, if only because she doesn't realize that there are people out there who should not be trusted.
on the opposite end of the spectrum, however, i wouldn't actually mind of said mentor/friend decided to take advantage of her dependency. she's unfailingly loyal -- problematically so, actually -- and isn't entirely sure how to make her own decisions, which makes her a bit of an ideal target for those with less-than-kind intentions.
i'm not exactly searching for just a single character to fill these roles, however; it's more of a general guideline. if you have a character who could possibly hit a few of these points, i'd love to plot/thread with them.

Reading the first one gave me something of an idea, so I can toss Sky at you for reasons. Basically if Galatea needs help dealing with unsavory merchants, well, Sky was a smuggler and a pirate, she has plenty of experience dealing with unsavory merchants, as she had to sell her goods somewhere and such. It's an easy enough friendship to start off, too, as the instant Sky sees someone trying to take advantage of Galatea's naivete she'd probably interject and call the guy out, for example. Anyway, tossing that one out there for you to consider.

SKY BLUE that sounds great -- i don't doubt galatea's been the victim of one or two (or ten) swindling merchants in the marketplace. and sky seems like a good counterpoint to galatea's reticence. i wouldn't mind threading the two when you're free. c:
