go back to being plastic 'places, places get in your places, no one ever listens this wallpaper glistens don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen' Now Todd didn't usually come back to the dragonrider's quarters unless he had one damn good reason to. Every time he returned he was either avoided at all costs or he had at least two of however many riders were awake to come greet him with scoldings and other irritable noises. It was safe to say, he had one very important reason to return to this place ruled by laws and rules.
He could just feel their eyes burning into his skin, hear them scurry away; as Todd made his way down the residential area.. Few actually knew of his past, fewer knew his real name; but every single one of them knew his infamous reputation. And it wasn't a good one at all. Thus, the horrendous greetings he was getting. Now normally he might have veered off course to chat up some of the noobs, heck he did just that but was chased back on course by some mildly dis-likable party-poopers. This course that was his quest that only became a quest because he would have been mauled by his dragon if he didn't get it done. Said dragon stalked from outside, keeping a rather annoying buzz in his head to remind him that she wouldn't let him leave until his job was done. And that job was a repair job.
The dragon's bridle had become damaged and need some major fixing (as Rosa managed to rip the steel into pieces). So here he was, walking down these hallways in the amusing of spaces, carrying an extremely heavy bridle on his shoulder with a bag of the shattered pieces on his waist. Thankfully it wasn't a total mess but it definitely could not be used in its current state. Not unless Rosa wanted both a bloody mouth and cheek.
But there was just one teansy weansy problem... All the dragon equipment blacksmiths that he knew were either retired or would come within a twenty-meter radius of him. Ah the life of the popular... So the main quest at the moment was to find some blacksmith who could repair his broken equipment. A young blacksmith whose name he managed to coerce from some naive trainee. Magma Hirimito.
An interesting name to be sure, it reminded him of Madam's real name though he'd only ever heard it once and had long forgotten it. Todd marched through the halls until he came to the room he'd hope was this 'Magma's', using his one free hand to pound on large doors. That same hand returning to his hip as he waited impatiently. |

Magma was finishing up some weapons for the other dragon riders with his dragon, Lapiz. His dragon was a blue dragon who was using her fire breath to smelt ores into bars, while Magma was repairing and making weapons. From the looks of his work area, he has mot tidied up in a while and he had a lot of work to do before he could do anything else. He struck what looked like a work in progress with a hammer. It was hot in this room and anyone not used to this heat would probably make a person sweat in seconds. The sound of the hammer hitting metal made people's ears ring, although it seems as Magma was used to this as he was trained. He was in the middle of making a 2-handed sword out of steel. This sword was for a friend of Magma that he had met while gathering materials.
Magma gave the ore to Lapiz, in which she smelted it. Magma then put it into a mold and waited. After the wait he started to hit the sword with his hammer. After this process, Magma threw the sword into a bucket of water and held it up high. "Alright, another sword done." Lapiz then congratulated Magma on the sword as he started to work on a holster for this blade.

He wasn't answering... Todd could just feel his impatience pop a vein from his head. The staring and ceaselessly murmuring behind him did little to help his forced mood. Quite honestly the man would have just dropped the bridle and left it there while he went off and had some fun. That fun being of many a sorted different things but always included entertainment. But alas, Rosa would not have that. So there he stood, hearing the sounds of metal striking metal behind the dragonrider's door with Rosa poking at his own head with a similar rhythm. That vein just seemed to grow and grow before it just - popped. A crooked smile of irritation on his face, Todd removed the short sword at his side. It held a unique shape, being thinner than most other swords. The blade was only sharp on one side unlike most of the other blades, bearing a hilt covered in dark blue cloth. It's hilt was a plain dark leather dyed black, the only decoration being the bands that kept it from falling apart.
Expertly, Todd moved to the side of the door that held the lock, stabbing his blade into the crack between; before inevitable kicking at the door. The noise itself drew many people to protest but one very unhappy look from him shut them up real quick. He stabbed the door a few more times before inevitable placing the blade back into its sheathe, dropping the bridle; and spin kicking the door wide open.
The poor barrier swung open with the force of a fully trained dragonrider, his mind flowing with praise as Rosa giggled at the action. "Hello!" Todd roared into the room, his skin already sweltering from the heat. "I would appreciate it if you answered your door oh noble blacksmith." Todd turned, picking up the bridle before stomping toward the lad and tossing it down next to him. His hand then reaching for the loose bag containing the extra bits that fell off and tossing them next to the broken pile. "Fix it." The man commanded, the ferocity in his eyes telling the youngster that he would not take no for an answer.

Magma jumped and dropped the newly forged sword when Todd barged in. "Just leave it there and I will get to it later." Magma pointed to a table with broken weapons and swords on it. Seeing how Magma was the only blacksmith in the palace, people always came to him for multiple purposes, like repairing, crafting and even upgrading their current weapon. Magma picked the weapon back up and threw it in a barrel full of two-handed swords. He then picked up a broken long sword and started to work on this. The sword's hilt looked like trash and the blade was utterly destroyed. He started by melting the blade down and re-forged it, which took about an hour. Magma then went through numerous weapons before finally getting to Todd's Bridle, Magma melted down the pieces and re-forged the brittle which only took a half an hour. Magma handed the bridle back to Todd. "Please, next time don't barge in at this time, this is when i work on weapons and armor." Magma then pushed Todd out in the hallway and started to work on the door that was knocked down.
When the door was fixed he slammed the door shut and noticed that his sword fell down off his shelf when he slammed the door. He picked up the sword and felt nostalgia come over him. He remembered the blood, sweat and tears that were put in to make this sword. He put it back on the shelf from which it fell and resumed his work on some new weapons. Lapiz climbed up onto Magma's shoulder and began to smelt bars. "Lapiz isn't the feeling of smithing good?" "Of course." Magma continued to work with a lot of effort.

Todd huffed when the much younger boy, yes he considered the blacksmith a boy; agreed to fix the bridle. He niether minded the dropped sword, one of excellent sharpness he'd admit; nor did he mind the waiting. Rosa on the other hand did mind the waiting. The boy placed the finished sword in a barrel, going on to working with other projects. The next project was what was left of a... broadsword? Longsword? Todd couldn't exactly tell with its mangles appearance. "When is he going to be done? Why hasn't he started on it yet? That familiarly irritated voice echoed in his head, outside you could hear the angered roar of a large dragon deafened by the blacksmith's work.
"He'll be done when he's done." Todd answered through their link. He felt the dragon let out a not so pathetic whine, he could feel her just shaking her head. "It's precious time wasted! Can you make him hurry? Can I go down there and force him to hurry?"
"No." Was his simple answer. Only fate could tell what sorts of destruction the large Red huntress would wreck upon the poor rider's habitat, what people and dragons she might mangle in her rush to scare the boy into working faster. She knew he knew this too as she gave an inward sigh. At times like these the Rosa despised having to wait outside for one reason or another. Even if it was to fix her favorite bridle, the female at least wished she could spend the time with her beloved and she made this known through her bond with him. Of course the Red rider dismissed her longings with promises to ride together for a bit. It was something to lift the great beast's spirits and it was something that worked very well indeed.
It lasted through the majority of this 'Magma's' works. Todd leaned against an awfully hot wall with even hotter air making his skin sweat and feel like it was going to bubble, his Rosa glided outside with a growing temper once more. He could feel her impatience begin to overwhelm her excitement, or more like it was building on that excitement. It was clear, at least to him; that if this metal worker didn't hurry up and get to the bridle, he'd have one seriously angered dragoness on his hands. One that his little blue, as she or he did not seem fully grown yet; would have a very hard time dealing with. Heck, he always had a hard time dealing with her, especially when Rosa was going through one of her fits.
Thankfully that prediction did not come to pass as Magma tossed his next finished creation into it's place before finally working on the damnable contraption. At this time Todd felt like he was melting both inside and out. Sure, he'd been around fire before (he had a temperamental dragon after all) but this was just too much for it. About half the works back, Todd was just about to say 'screw it' and leave but he persevered. And that preservation led to the boy finishing the job in what felt like a few moments compared to the last couple hundred works, giving Todd back a finely completely bridle and tossing him out the door. Not like he'd complain with the treatment mind you. He gave a light "Yeah, sure - just answer your door next time." before stalking off back down the hallway. The blacksmith fixed his door and slammed it shut, a sound that echoed down the halls.
