go back to being plastic 'places, places get in your places, no one ever listens this wallpaper glistens don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen' Parties. Who didn't love parties? Todd did and should everyone else. What was there not to love about parties? There was food, drink, and some very lovely dressed ladies among the crowd. Even some sprinkled clean men, for those who were looking for them.
Todd was one such fellow, albeit he was doing the searching not the one being searched. He wore his finest dragonrider decor, though he would have wore one of his kept exotic outfits if the some particular stern riders hadn't ripped off him and told him to play guard duty. Todd gave the men, as there were two; a fox-like smile while he agreed. They were dumbfounded, amazed that he'd agreed since he never did anything dutiful much less guard duty. But of course, his 'guard duty' wasn't like theirs.
The detail gave Todd an excuse to go around speaking to each of the guests, mostly the ladies. They were of all shape and form, some of nobility, others of the highclass; and even those from poor town were among them. He found several other riders who had come to join the party, their dragons conversing while his merely stared down at him from the dragon socializing area. He could hear her grumbling something through their link but he didn't care to make an understanding of it. He was far too busy for such things, being on guard duty and all.
Taking a glass of wine form on gold covered table, Todd wandered around some more before settling on chatting up a duo of ladies. They both looked to be in their twenties, one with dark hair and the other with bright. "Hello ladies, the name's Silver. A pleasure to make your acquaintance." The man's voice seemed to purr, his 'game face' clear across his face. He held a suave tone that the girl giggled at, playing their feminine game of 'act shy and answer'. That was fine as Todd loved those games, it also made them easier to 'talk to'.
Now if any other rider saw him, they'd either avoid him at all costs or pick a fight with him because he wasn't doing his job seriously. Those who knew him only knew him as 'Silver the gigolo-knight' or some other worse name. Only a few actually knew his real name and most were long since retired or within his age group of thirty and up. A sad thing really but it gave him a delight to see all the kiddies run away. ◤ | ◥ | we could be immortals | "just not for long, for long" | They knew better than to let Siham wreak her usual brazen havoc as a party goer. If she ever actually was the type of person to complain about her responsibilities, the opportunity to pull out the most ostentatious equipment she had more than made up for the seriousness she had to bring to the occasion. What was the Yronwood name but a guarantee that a knight they could call their own would be dressed to the nines? She found it perfectly acceptable to stand there, statuesque, with her ceremonial armor polished to a brilliant shine to look like she was simply another impressive part of the king's royal decor. Duty called for her to put on an impassive, maybe even grim face on through the cooing and open marveling as people walked past, though there was the perpetual feeling about her that she was just a half relaxed panther waiting for a moment to pounce.
There was a distinct displeasure that played across her sneering face at seeing a brother-in-arms so obviously shirking his guard detail and making a general fool of himself. She had watched for long enough to finally approach him and the pair of women, her thick braid swinging against her cloak as she moved.
"I'm sure you're doing an admirable job guarding the wine," she cut in without much regard for whether the two women were in the middle of replying. "But I'm sure the king wouldn't be careless enough to set out potentially poisoned food for his guests."

go back to being plastic 'places, places get in your places, no one ever listens this wallpaper glistens don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen' It was almost as if all the joy just shrunk out of the world when that familiar condescending tone cut through the air. It was like... an extremely sharp knife had cut through that fine silken illusion that was Todd's freedom.
He didn't even need to look at the speaker, his emerald eyes watched as his two chatted ladies look at eachother warily, whisper something, before saying a quick goodbye and fleeing the scene. "Ah dear Siham. Sometimes I feel that you personally take the hours from your day to come see me. I feel so touched." Todd said with a dramatic flare, turning his finely shaped head toward the not-so-happy woman. Siham Yronwood was her name as he recalled, though he could never forget her even if he wanted to. "What brings me the honor of seeing you today? Surely you have not grown so bored as to desire my company?" The man asked lightly.
He folded his arms across his chest with one hand to his chin. Even if it was Siham, Todd would not lose his glamour that he built up. His eyes would sparkle with mischief as his posture held both grace and readiness to flee if the female decided that she wanted to stab him suddenly. Women were like that sometimes. They either wanted to kiss you or stab you as Todd had learned, or rather chosen to learn.
"Well, no matter the reason you do look lovely tonight." Todd smiled slyly, "Armor does suit you better than a dress. Though I do think I like your dance-wear better. It had more... freedom." |

◤ | ◥ | we could be immortals | "just not for long, for long" | She paid the guests no mind as they quickly slithered away from the scene. Siham's own irritation, however, simmered as the man took his time to finally turn around and address her. As though he were not currently on duty. As though she were a servant or some civilian begging for a moment of his time, if you would just so kindly. No growl sounded at his too-casual response, though her jaw was set with all the solemnity that he was sorely lacking.
Her eyes narrowed at his subtle implications that would have otherwise been received with derisive laughter were she off-duty and out of her armor. She had the coin to throw at him to make him go away for the night, much less try to spend it with him. But she hadn't meant to stoop that low so quickly, until he decided to go there first.
"An observation from personal experience, I gather," she said dryly. They both knew damn well that if Siham hadn't been assigned to duty tonight, she'd be slinking about in her usual stunningly immodest attire. Anything to display the hard, flat stomach she had from daily arms training, though she never fooled anyone with trying to pass off translucent gauze as being full, proper dress.
"Are you here to find clients, or to serve the king's orders?"

Oh she was mad. He could tell. It was like a sixth sense for him and exhilerating one at that. At times it made the older rider feel all warm and cozy inside knowing that people paid enough attention to get so mad at him. He probably also wounded her pride which further amused the Red rider. He did speak to everyone the same way no matter their class, gender, or even their species. The exception would have to be Rosa as she acted far too clingy for his tastes. Not to mention he couldn't quite take a dragon slap, a human one sure, but a dragon? It hurt more than hell, he'd tell you that.
The dark haired woman was in her serious mode alright. Her eyes narrowed and Todd mimicked the motion but his holding a hint of laughter to them. "Oh Siham - you look so serious like that. It makes my heart flutter." The man teased, his smile widening by her words. He let out a soft chuckle, "But of course! I doubt anyone within our fine establishment has not seen your expertise. And I'll bet some fine coin that they were mesmerized by the sight." It was a little sad for him that he wasn't able to see her in the usual. But that was the fate of the prideful and fancy parties now wasn't it? Though that didn't mean he couldn't make a game out of it.
A game that started the moment she asked the most humorous of questions. "Clients?" Todd gasped, "Why perish the thought. I am serving our dear and humble King to my finest abilities. I'm sure keeping the guests happy is part of that duty is it not? Not even the King himself could cater to all these guests." He motioned to the grand crowd that littered the courtyard, his sly smile still on his face.

◤ | ◥ | we could be immortals | "just not for long, for long" | Standing before her was a self-important worm that didn't know how to stop wriggling when she was trying to crush it underfoot. At the man's presumptive familiarity of calling her by first name, Siham almost snapped at him to address her by "Lady Yronwood" instead. But his slick manners would find a way to pervert that as well. She did not think about how this encounter could have gone very differently without the burden of armor and a guard duty shift to honor.
Her eyes slid towards the crowd as she obliged his grand gesture, though just as quickly they settled their uncomfortable gaze back on the Ser Nightworn, however little he deserved that title. He had not been fazed by her accusation at all, and the missed mark had her sneering in renewed disdain for his shamelessness.
"If the king needed you to keep his guests happy for him, he would be paying you to take off all your armor instead." The bite in Siham's tone suggested, without any kind of subtlety, that she thought that was exactly the way he should have stayed.
"You'd better return to your post, unless your heart is so generous that you wanted the time to entertain for free. That is your preferred idea of service, then?"

She wanted to tell him off and oh how it infuriated her that she couldn't. Or maybe it was that she wouldn't? Either way it was amusing, far too amusing to stop now. Todd struggled to hold a giggle that threatened to burst his belly. Oh how he loved to tease the serious Siham, see her mad expression just darken and darken till it looked like she'd just burst into flames and come at him. Of course he wouldn't let himself be caught so easily if it came down to that, what fun would it that be after all?
Her eyes showed contempt of him, her sneer only proving it more so. "I find your displeasing face to be so adorable." Todd commented, "Though I think hues of pink and smiles suit you much more than that dark frown." He ended softly, the laughter not yet gone from his eyes. He would have reached out and brushed her cheek with his fingertips but decided against for more obvious reason. With that look and that killer aura, she'd sooner break his fingers than let them come with an inch or two of her. This he knew well.
Todd's eyes widened, a quick laugh escaping him before he downed the contents of the drink he still held before placing the fine glass onto a walking by waiter's tray. "Why Siham! You hold me in such a high regard to think the King would allow me to frolic about the party as you normally do. Have I somehow managed to sparkle a twinkle in those lovely eyes of yours?" He heard the iced hint that she dropped, agreeing with her mentally that he too would have preferred to stay in his normal exotic fabrics. But alas it was made quite clear to him by those two fellow riders that if he were to attend this party unhindered, or mostly in this case; he'd need to play the big bad boogieman to those who sought to cause mischief.
Her next words earned another quick laugh from the Nightworn, his eyes narrowing until his face held that undeniable fox-like look about it. It held his very essence as he leaned toward the woman, unafraid of the fact that she could break his nose with her forehead if she so chose. "Of course you would know of my 'free entertainment' first hand now wouldn't you?" He countered, completely bypassing the fact that she had pretty much ordered him back to his post. He withdrew quickly, "I'll return to my post soon enough. Maybe sooner if you choose to come keep me company? I do get awful lonely." He added smoothly, giving her a quick wink.
