the street's a liar i'm going to lure you into the dark my cold desire ; i want to heart the boom, boom
of your heart*
The danger is I'm dangerous And I might just tear you apart I'm gonna catch ya I'm gonna get ya, get ya I wanna taste the way that you bleed, oh You're my kill of the night Now you're mine But what do I do with you, boy I'll take your heart To kick around as a toy .* Kneeling into the dirt, she worked diligently - taking her time moving the dirt. It was one of those days where she didn't feel like Basil Nightworn, she felt like she was something so much simpler. She was dressed casually, a red scarf loose around her neck, her usual black or dark blue attire had been switched out to light grey and even lighter blue. Perhaps it was because she managed to sleep the previous night without any nightmares, perhaps it was because it was the anniversary of her buying her precious sword, Bonechiller. Perhaps Basil was just in a rather good mood.
She decided to further that good mood by taking care of her garden. By technicality it wasn't her garden, it was the rider's. But when she arrived it was over-grown and ill-kept - a far cry of the beautiful monument it was today. Topiary bushes that she grew so Corautmors could have something to do, wisteria that climbed the fences. Although others would come and go, Basil was one of the few that truly cared for it day after day.
She paused to wipe some of the effort away from her forehead, unknowingly wiping dirt across her forehead. It was hot and she turned to Corautmors, who extended his wing without a word to provide the slightest of shade while she worked. She wasn't doing much except transfer some of the weaker snapdragons over to a much more healthier soil - hardly exciting for a retired mercenary and senior rider. But she could hear Corautmors hum in the background, with a slight breeze against her face and Basil could hardly complain. ❚ WORDS - 271 ❚ TAGS; open❚ NOTES step on her flowers and she'll step on your face

The dragonrider's quarter was always a fun place to be for Silvaria. It reminded her of the days when she could go dragonriding without someone reminding her that she had "queenly duties" to do, only to have her dismiss them. She would spend a lot of her time wherever she could find the most people, which was usually either in the baths, the bar or at the dining room, all of which she was had taken the responsibility of managing in Damien's steed much of the time. She considered the place more a home at times than she did the castle since she it was actually a place she had grown familiar with long before she did the castle.
Another area she actually found enjoyment in, even though it was scarce of people, was the gardens. She didn't consider gardening on her high list of hobbies, as she in fact new little about it. On average at least once a week, she would find herself there. Still, she knew little about it, so usually she would just take time to water what he could or to gather plants which she couldn't find anywhere else. Other than that, she never really had enough patience for gardening to take it up as more than just a idle past time. If her teenager self saw her gardening she would probably laugh in hysteria though.
Still, she had someone she had been wanting to thank for actually making it possible for her to be able to "garden" again. From what she had heard Basil Nightworn, their senior rider, was responsible for regrowing the garden to its former glory. For the longest time she has been wanting to thank the woman for caring for the garden, but either she never saw her or was too busy to remember to sought her out. It strange she had yet to actually meet the woman even though she was their senior rider as well as a friend of her husband. Being Queen sucks, she would think to herself so many times, a sentiment Damien and her enjoyed laughing about. She had perhaps been lucky that day when she had gotten to the garden and found the raven haired woman there, her dragon on the sidelines.
She slipped into the garden, smiling a bit in mischief. Her dragon had seen her, but with a gesture of silence, the dragon had simply stood by and watched. Silvaria moved with awkward grace behind the woman, ignoring the insistent heat that had sweat trailing her figure beneath her attire. She slipped behind the distracted woman, planting a kiss on her sweat damped cheek. "Consider that my first way of thanking you for your hard work in restoring the garden," she said, her hand folded over her chest.
She knew the woman had quite the past of violence and crime, but oh well, they all had a past.

It was getting hotter as the day continued, the kind of day some might spend at the beach or perhaps underneath the shade of a tree with a book in their hand. That as it said, Basil was content with the few snapdragons in front of her. A rather single-tracked mind Basil had, she was focused on her task at hand when she felt the brush of a lips against her cheek.
Her first reaction was to freeze and indeed she did, fingers still holding the unrooted snapdragon in her hands. For a moment, she believed it to be a prank, of a fool that thought it might be wise to try and kid around with the serious senior rider. But she knew if it were the case Corautmors would have surely reacted. Instead, she felt him shift his weight, removing his wing as a shadow and stretching his neck to her.
She moved her head to the side to eye the queen, her frown now set more permanently into her face. She resisted the urge to wipe away the kiss and instead nodded. It was Corautmors that extended a thin pink tongue, licking the other cheek and sending the rider shivers down her spine. The orange chuckled before extending a head to the queen - probably expecting a kiss as well.
It was his kiss she held no reluctance to wipe from her cheek, setting the snapdragon into it's new hole. "No need for thanks, it was nothing." And she meant it, placing her hands into her lap. She wasn't as well acquainted with the queen as she was with her husband, and she wondered if a sense of formality would be needed. From what she heard, the queen was similar to her husband in the sense of duty and ranking, and thus Basil wasn't nearly as worried about things like calling her 'highness' or 'her majesty'. "Is there anything I can help you with?" She asked, getting to her feet, wiping the dirt from her hands onto her clothing - meeting the queen's eye in silent respect.

Silvaria was observant enough to note the woman before her freeze before she had even pulled herself away, a slight shudder was the only sign of movement. She knew she probably wouldn't take it well, but it was worth it perhaps. Besides, the orange dragon who had a hand in the deed surely seemed seemed to find it funny, so that was enough to get a good laugh out of Silvaria. At least the dragon wasn't as jealous as other dragons she knew, even extending his head for a kiss himself, which she complied with, rubbing his head.
She fixed her attention back to the senior rider, still stroking the orange's head fluently. "To you perhaps it isn't, but I'm grateful," he said, shrugging her shoulders. She somewhat forgot what she ready to say as sbhe watched her finish up transplanting what she vaguely remembered was called a snapdragon. She took as much notes as she could from the simple action. Perhaps she would use it in the future in addition to her usual routine of just watering the plants. She stepped back one to allowed her room, then made a blinking action as she recalled what she was about to say. She didn't care for the curtness in her tone as she asked her purpose. If she didn't have patience with curt people then she wouldn't have much a life now or prior, since neither then nor now, did most people she knew been very subtle.
"But, like I was saying, this place needed the maintenance. When we had decided to improve on the old foundation of this place set by by husband's father, we had went a bit crazy," she said, a sighed escaped her lips. "When he said pool, I said dining room, when I said that, he said gym. Then we even came to add this place, which was sort of just a not so good idea till you took it up." She paused, looking about. "A little bit longer and we likely would have even added a zoo or a strip bar. Those two things would surely get more attention and this place though."
