some search for a dragon to slay If you had asked Atlas what she was going to do today, getting stuck in some hazardous rocks was not one of them. As a monster hunter, of course her life was filled with hazard and crazy deeds. She was the courageous sort, who spat in the face of danger. Atlas craved adrenaline like a child craved sweets so her job made sure to deal with the sort of excitement every day. This particular sunny morning required her to talk to some sailors who feared an ugly fish that treaded around the area, barging into ships and digging into their hulls. So for a nice sum of money, she made her own make-shift raft and set sail. It was an ugly fish, a hagfish that wandered too close to the surface water with a vicious temper. She had left her quiver on shore, hidden underneath the dock to avoid any thieves and had only placed a knife as her weapon. She got it, but not without losing her ship in the process (if you could call her ugly little canoe a ship). Which was how Atlas clung to the hazardous rocks that appeared from the ocean like talons. She tasted saltwater and grit on her tongue and sighed in frustration. She was soaked to the bone, slowly drying off in the heat but she was stuck - unless she wanted to swim. But this was the ocean, and as someone who dealt with the unknown and dangerous on a daily basis, she didn't trust the waters around the isle and thus, hung on tighter - hoping for a ship that would sail in her direction. LOTS OF WORDS FOR open - ATLAS NEEDS SOME SAVING

go back to being plastic 'places, places get in your places, no one ever listens this wallpaper glistens don't let them see what goes down in the kitchen' If it wasn't riders yelling at him it was Rosa wanting attention, it seemed like no matter what he did Todd could never catch a break. Even when he was 'keeping someone company', the pink that was supposed to be red dragon would constantly poke and prod his brain with her words. This was the result of one of those times. Just earlier he had found a rather lonely weaver woman, only for his wooing to be interrupted by a very distraught Red. The beast was intent on destroying the entire town if he kept it up which resulted in a compromise. He would go flying with if she would just shut up.
Of course Rosa agreed happily, almost prancing when Todd had to make his most distasteful exit. Not only did he have to take care of his ever loyal dragon but he had to do so with barely more than a greeting to his target. It was safe to say that he was not the happiest rider even if he was on the back of his great Red Rosa. She was exhilerant, the happiest thing on the planet. Swooping and swerving, taking them over land and into the domain of water. Below he could see bodies of dolphins jump from their places, signaling that they were well into the ocean.
They glided on the winds, Todd's mood improving with time. "Are you having fun?" Rosa's voice rung in his head. "Yeah." Todd replied aloud, patting the her scaled neck. She let out a happy coo before sweeping down till her talons nearly touched the water. Red's weren't the fastest of fliers but Rosa had enough experience to be fast, allowing the ocean to zip by. Todd's emerald eyes watch the water and a few stones that stuck out from their depths zip by. That was until he spotted an usual sight. The duo had passed over a rock that looked to have a flash of gold on it (spraying water over it in the process).
"Wait Rosa! Turn back!" Todd commanded, the Red obeying with almost dog-like loyalty. She made a fancy U-turn, going up with a spiral to face the direction they come. Todd held to his saddle, tugging on the reins that wrapped around the female's spiked head when they'd returned to the place.
A woman. No, a girl from the looks of it, probably in her late teens. Rosa hovered, battering her wings against the air before dropping down into the water with a large splash. That's a funny place to be stranded!" Todd called, "Need a ride?" He added, a sly smile crossing his face. |

some search for a dragon to slay She inched slowly up the rock, so she could get a better view of her surroundings. It was pretty much what she had predicted. More rocks and a shit-ton of water. Atlas sighed, leaning against the sea stone. At this point she should just jump into the water and stop stressing over it. Although she was dog-like in personality, incredibly bubbly and energetic she was a cat when it came to water. She hated it, despised even. So she lingered there, forehead pushing into the rock when something zipped by her - nearly throwing her off her perch. She adjusted slightly to see what the hell nearly pulled her from place and promptly froze when the dragon slammed into the water. Spraying her with seawater she coughed, sputtering but refusing to show fear only shock. She clambered around and laughed, avoiding the dragon rider's eyes. "Who said anything about being stranded?" She laughed, gripping onto for dear life. Any chances of her leaving now were completely gone. Now, you would have to kill her just to leave.
"Oh, I'm quite fine. Just where I wanted to be actually. You go on ahead." She laughed, hugging the rock as though it were a long lost cousin and slightly praying that he would indeed go away. But she knew dragonriders, a conceited sort and knew that it would take something big for the dragonrider to leave.

There was a clearly amused smile splayed across the rider's face. "I did in fact." The man laughed, "That is unless the word 'stranded' changed its definition while I wasn't looking." He shifted in his saddle, trying to catch the young blond's eye as she looked away. A shy one eh? No matter - she'd never be able to take her eyes off him later. Rosa merely worked her legs to keep them afloat, her large wings raised high so that the water wouldn't drench them more. The Red had no qualms about being wet but she did not wish for her rider to become even more soaked than he already was thanks to that little stunt. His more casual rider-wear was little more than a combination of leather and metal. Her golden eyes examined Todd, satisfied that he was not angry with being splashed. Her gaze turned to the little girl he had ordered her to land by, an annoyed huff left her as cat-like eyes glared holes into the tiny girl's form.
Todd leaned back on his dragon, placing both hands on the back of Rosa's saddle as he gave the girl the most casual look ever. "Oh really now?" He looked at her with a disbelieving expression on his face, shaking it away with a wave of his hand. "Well I don't need to save any damsel who aren't in distress now do I? Come on Rosa, time to go." The red dragon gave a happy huff, pounding her wings down as she used the rocks (and the one that the girl clung to) as leverage to get into the air, uncaring if the girl got squashed beneath her claws or not.
The duo when in the air in a matter of seconds, the great Red gaining altitude as Todd commanded her to be slow about it. He kept hold of the reins, turning his head back only halfway to catch a glimpse of the maiden. The girl was a mere dot when Todd piped up. "You know what Rosa, I think I changed my mind. Go scoop her up for me like a good pretty will you?" He flattered. The dragoness held a clear hesitation. "Do I have to?" "I'll spend the rest of the day with you." That was all she needed before the dragon rose up before diving down toward the girl.
Her talons were outstretched to pluck up the girl, careful not to harm as that would just anger Todd. Of course Rosa wasn't quite happy about having to carry the girl but that distaste was completely invisible to the joy of getting to be with her rider all day in person. It was a rare thing and he never went back on his word.

some search for a dragon to slay She listened to him talk, the silver tongue trying to persuade. Not likely. She knew how that shit worked. Quite frankly, if she met him without his dragon perhaps she would be more willing to smile and laugh. But she could see the dragon, with scales that look like rose petals. But she can smell the brimstone in the air - overpowering the smell of saltwater. Needless to say, she was only listening half-heartedly to his words but she breathed a sigh of relief when he and his dragon took off into the air - spraying her with more saltwater and drenching her once more. She spat it out but quite frankly, Atlas didn't mind. So long as his dragon was gone, than she was content. Besides, hydra roamed these parts - beasts of fickle nature but she knew how to sway them. Perhaps she could ask the sea serpents for some assistance. She let herself relax, the grip on the rock loosening when she heard the beat of the wings and felt the claws grip into her shoulder. She screamed once, reaching for the rock but was soon ripped from her perch and away from the ocean. The scream died on her tongue, but still she squirmed. Shit, shit - she was reminded of the fateful night years ago where she saw topaz eyes and gnashing teeth, smelling overpowering smoke and flame and found herself angrily tapping on the dragon's claws. She was a monster hunter for god's sake. "Put me down!" She asked, no, prayed, hoping for sand or death, unable to find any fresh oxygen over the stench of dragon and it's rider.

Both rider and dragon's ears were deaf to the girl's clear dislike of the situation. Her pounding went unnoticed against the Red's thickly scaled paws, her rider shifted in his seat so that he slid off. He fell downward, gripping the stirrup with his hand before he climbed down the girth that extended across his bonded's front and lower chest. The rein were left up top to dang in the wind like a hooped whip.
He slid and climbed down the still mobile dragon, unhindered by the great pounding of her wings and the constant motion they created. A clearly amused look was on his face when he made it down to the dragon's almost-human-like paws. His large frame balanced easily like as if he had down this multiple of times (which he had quite honestly). "You don't need to be so frantic young miss." He said loudly over the rush of wind, "It's not like Rosa will drop you or squish you. Well, hopefully not. If you keep that up you might just change her mind. Or she'd play catch with you. Something along those lines." He laughed, patting the thick limb of the dragon's forearm.
The girl was absolutely frantic about her situation, or at least he thought that was fear emanating from her being. It could easily have been anger too, considering they did just pluck her from the sea like a flower. A flower that tried to poke them with thorns but failed miserably against the dragoness's brute strength. Todd's face twisted into a sly grin as he held out one hand toward the girl.
"I'm sure Rosa's claws are ever so comfortable but how 'bout a seat up on her back?" He offered, Rosa letting out a clearly unhappy snort at the idea. Clouds of smoke left her nostrils at the very thought, an echo of disgust bouncing through their link but Todd paid it no mind for the simple reason that carrying the little girl would hardly be seemly to the Red.
