The town was so beautiful from this view. All the people below watching up at him, their faces probably twisted in awe and horror. He couldn't quite make out their expressions and could hardly discern their head from their bodies this high up, but the entire portrait of the castle, the marketplace, the people, and the sky that seemed to cone around it was breathtaking. And he had the best seat on the island; thousands of feet in the air, back to back and hands free with Surya as the dragon slowed to a pause in mid upside down arc. The momentum that the dragon had picked up was keeping him in place for those holy moments, but now Chandra leaned forward, the front of his body moving towards the earth again. Soon, his legs and feet parted for the dragon and he twisted, plummeting head first back to the earth. The loose clothes and draping sleeves and ribbon did well to cause enough drag to be heading to the ground at the velocity of a bullet, but they also created a stunning visual display as he turned and they spiraled. What made this trick so especially terrifying to watch was that Surya was no where near his rider as he fell. He started to weave between the building, albeit very fast, before spiraling around the highest tower of the castle. Once he reached the top, he dipped low into town, only inches above the tops of the buildings and shot into the sky, passing Chandra as he flew straight up. But the daring rider disappeared, and as the dragon continued in a rightside-up arc back down to earth, Chandra could be seen somewhat safely back onto the dragons back, standing as if he was a surfboard rather than a mount. The two landed gently as a feather back down onto the ground and bowed, earning an enthusiastic applause. There was a few people who came up to speak to him about his performance, but he has been doing it so long now, it was an everyday thing. It wasn't that they were bored of him; in fact, they expected him and was upset on days he didn't perform. People just quickly went back to doing what they normally do each time. Maybe they were waiting for the next biggest show. But on an island like this, who knows how long it will be before it comes? ~~~ ~"Talk to me"~

The dragonriders were a busy people. There were so few of them that the ones who could took up as many shifts and duties as they could. The numbers were growing slowly, but for an organization of its caliber it did not have nearly enough members. Because of this Sky did as much as she could, not just to prove herself but because she felt it necessary as part of her redemption. She dedicated herself toward the dragonriders, but that didn't mean she never got any time to herself. Even among the stretched out ranks of the riders, on top of her training, she was allowed time off to go into town, to do her own thing, to be a human being.
Typically this time was spent simply occupying herself and whomever she was drinking with at the tavern. She was a simple enough girl with simple needs, as they would say. But the autumn air was crisp that day and it was too early to drink, so she found herself making the trip across the island to Keep Town for something to do. She had on her typical regalia, clothing she'd gotten used to from her days on the sea. With the autumn air getting cooler it was much more appropriate attire for her to wear without standing out, at the very least, since it was designed to withstand the chill of the ocean air.
Lyroth didn't come to town with her, though he was nearby. Probably hunting, or brooding, or whatever it was he did. She could feel him at the furthest reach of their bond. And he must have been near by, for he saw the show as well. From the ground Sky had the same view as everyone else of Chandra's little show. She watched with awe as he flew about. The trick itself wasn't at all interesting to her, but the freedom he was showing as he flew was something she longed for. Lyroth felt that emotion across the bond. Soon enough, he reassured her. He knew how much Sky longed to fly, and knew that the only thing stopping her was the fact that he wasn't quite big enough to fly with her on his back yet.
Would you catch me? she shot back.
Not if you were doing something stupid like that, he replied. She knew it was a jab, that he would catch her. It brought a smile to her face and as Chandra came swooping in, Sky's hands clapped together to join in the mixed applause he got from among the various populace of the town.

The crowd quickly disbanded back into their everyday duties and a feeling of exhaust overcame the human. Although falling didn't seem like something you had to exhort much effort in thanks to good ol' gravity, it took a strenuous a amount of control to fight the force of the maneuvers he needed to stick the landings. All the muscles in his back and sides felt like they were on fire, but the male simply stretched with his usual confident smile to fight it off. "This town has no respect for you.". A voice in his head started. Was he going to preach his gossip this soon after the performance? "After all the work we have done, you are still just a cheap source of entertainment to them. Why not give them a little sword's dance every once in a while? Maybe then they will see-". '-Thats nice and all, but I was swinging swords since I've been performing and that hasn't changed a thing.' Chandra sparked back. He gave out a loud yawn and continued to respond aloud. "As long as they aren't disrespecting me, it doesn't matter if they think I'm a joke." A childish smile spread across his face. "I must be a pretty funny one to have gotten this far." The dragon swatted his rider on the back with the tip of his tail. Even in its most gentlest form, it was enough to make the boy's back arch and tense. He returned the affection with a playful punch to the shoulder as they began to head back to the dining hall for lunch. It was then that Chandra noted a familiar face in the crowd. Thats strange. He doesn't really keep tabs on the citizens. Was she a rider? Then where was her dragon? Well, not all dragons and riders are attached at the hip, he supposed. Even if he didn't know her outside of seeing her face around the keep, he figured the nice thing to do was walk up and greet her instead of pass right by her. Surya either hadn't noticed or didn't agree. "Yo. You are a rider, right?"~~~ ~"Talk to me"~

Truthfully the last thing Sky had expected was to be singled out of the crowd. Her applause was mostly courteous--she enjoyed the show, after all--but nowhere near the loudest or longest. After the applause had finished and the rider had taken a bow she had thought the show over, and was in the process of trying to remember what she had come to town for when suddenly the voice spoke up. Her back had been turned simply because she had been scanning the streets to see if she could possibly find a clue toward her destination, and the voice had been unexpected.
She jumped with a start as she heard the other rider address her, and immediately turned around. He was rather informal, dressed in his show gear and not the typical dragonrider regalia. Then again neither was she. She knew of him, she'd seen him performing before and seen him among the other riders, but could only remember him as Chandra. What was his surname? She didn't have time to dig it out of memory, instead choosing to respond to his question in its own simplicity. "Yes," she said with a nod.
"By definition, anyway. I've yet to actually ride as mine isn't quite large enough to carry me in flight," she explained. "I suppose I don't need to ask the same of you, given your show," she added lightly, adding a laugh at the end for effect. "You're Chandra, right? I've seen your shows about. You fly so . . . what's it like to have that kind of freedom, to soar through the air on and off of your dragon?" she asked, the young girl deep inside who longed for flight eagerly bubbling up.

Chandra saw that she had jumped a little, and he wondered if that was just a thing with dragonriders or was it him? Maybe the job had everyone all tense where Chandra was loving every minute of it. Then again, he was kind of lightfooted by nature. He might have unintentionally snuck up on the girl. Maybe he was loud too? Its hard to tell from the speaker's perspective. So she had a baby dragon? How sweet. He remembered the good old days when he couldn't even flip off of Surya's weak little back when he was grounded. He was such a helpful and cooperative dragon. "I still am."If only he could return to those helpful and cooperative times. "Yeah, I'm Chandra.". She hadn't addressed him with some fancy title. She must have not known who he was in the keep. Thats good. They could just talk like normal people then. Too many people had it out for him because of his ranking. They would see him as a slackoff and point out their own trials and tribulations in a passive-aggressive attack on him. He wasn't really one to repress his own feelings about things and mask them like that. Chandra preferred to break through such masks with a fist. The girl asked him what it was like to be so high in the sky and he couldn't help but smile at the question. Rubbing the back of his head and humming, he looked back up to the perfectly clear and open air and sighed. "Man, I can't explain it...I guess its kinda like being in your own world. Without gravity or time and stuff. But clearly it isn't because gravity and time are very active parts in falling and the whole danger of hitting the ground part..." He chuckled, looking back at the girl. "Its something you would have to experience yourself to understand. So how about it? Wanna go for a ride?"That seemed to have gotten Surya's attention, and now he joined the two, expression slightly annoyed. "Do I look like a horse to you? I honestly thought you had more respect for me than that..." The dragon gruffed. Chandra pat him on his side and laughed. "One ride isn't going to kill you. You need the practice anyway. You don't flow as smoothly between tricks like you used to."Oh yes. It was on now. ~~~ ~"Talk to me"~
