MEET BASIL 28 - SENIOR RIDER - DEMISEXUAL - a once hardy thief and mercenary turned into dragonrider, Basil spends her days training, overlooking the entirety of the dragonriders and gardening. Friends are hard to make as she remains hard-hearted in her old ways. That being said, I imagine she needs a few friends or maybe even some students to socialize with. However, enemies seem to be much more likely. I imagine in her youth she wronged quite a few people so rivals and enemies would be quite a bit of fun! When it comes down to lovers, she did have one in her youth but he has disappeared.. she requires a strong connection to anyone before she makes her move, but she does mean everyone so lovers of any gender are welcome! If you have any ideas or interests, idk you can post here im bad at these things.

SKY & BASIL: These two are from the same world and in the same circumstances. But the key differences are where the tension lies. First of all, Sky is terrified of Basil. This is a woman who escaped from the same background Sky did, but was open about it, didn't fear the consequences and avoid the truth. This is a woman who is what Sky wishes she could be, in a way. Furthermore, where they both came from they would obviously at the very least know of one another. But since Basil is open about it where Sky hides it, Sky has nothing over Basil and Basil has everything over Sky, which is also scary.
How well they get along is also a question of their background. Basil had the stomach to do everything Sky couldn't to become feared, right down to killing people. Sky did it to survive, Basil seemed to thrive. So they'd be at opposite ends of a spectrum, I guess, which can either allow them to get along famously or be opposed to one another at every chance. They can either be amazing friends or huge rivals.
I prefer the former path because it would help fill in a few holes in Sky's background for me. :3 If there was an ex-smuggler in a position of power within the dragonriders then it would explain how Sky was able to be accepted without much inquiry; Basil could've helped her through quietly, so to speak.
Gosh there is so much potential here something needs to happen!
Obligatory need to ship the two of them despite age difference too but that's up to you

The Master and Apprentice So there is a rule on this site that these two have to meet most people seem to skim over that rule but yup its there. I mean, there job kinda does end up pairing them together. But I think that they can get along. Chandra would have a lot of respect for her background, coming from the struggle himself. He has plenty of patience, so he wouldn't be too offended by anything she could say or do. In a sense, she would remind him a lot of his older sister before the city threw that which under the floorboards or whatever they did to her. And I would imagine that being so close together in age, the difference between her being superior and him being inferior? Discipline. Maturity. The ability to actually kill someone if it comes down to it. While Chandra is very skilled, he lacks all three of these things, so I would think Basil is supposed to be his mentor. That being said, Basi would probably not be able to stand him one bit. She might hate him with every fiber of her being. It would be like a second Corrie following her around. Speaking of which, Corrie is ironically probably the only dragon Surya would be able to get along with so far. |

hrmm, i like the idea of basil and sky being good friends. i can totally see basil perhaps recognizing the former smuggler and sliding her into the dragon riders quite quietly, the sort of shadowy work she can easily do. Not to mention, i think Basil would want to have the smuggler in their ranks, as a chance to redeem herself. Basil did a lot of things in her years, smuggling just being one of them. I bet they would mostly know each other by reputation, but Basil would be far more quiet about her knowledge in Sky. Sort of keeping an eye on her in case she does anything funny.

ah yes, i like the idea of a sort of apprentice that she dislikes. She does adore Corrie but I can't imagine she would do well with two very similar personalities day in and day out. would make for some fun interactions! i think it would be also quite hilarious if Corrie and Surya considered themselves friends before they did. haha, i dk
