if you could only see the beast you've made of me i held it in but now it seems you've set it running free,
i howl*
drag my teeth across your chest to taste your beating heart My fingers claw your skin, try to tear my way in You are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to howl My fingers claw your skin, try to tear my way in You are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to Howl, Now there's no holding back, I'm making to attack My blood is singing with your voice, I want to pour it out The saints can't help me now, I hunt for you with bloody feet across the hallow'd ground.* Basil adjusted the sword on her hip, feeling the familiar weight and feeling comfort in it. Most merchants she could see plastered a fake smile at her arrival. Once she roamed the marketplace with a hood over her eyes and swift fingers that touched every pocket. Although it had been years since her last act of thievery, grudges still stood against her. She had cost many a merchant a good, stealing with hardly any guilt. Things were different now.
She walked with pride now, a basket underneath the crook of her arm and coin above her breast in a small pocket. She was alone if only for a second, the stalls too tightly together for Corautmors to travel with her. Still he circled above her head, his shadow casting on the ground before gliding away. She browsed the wares with a pensive look - quiet as she circled the stalls with hardly anything to show for it.
She paused at a gardener's stall, smelling wildflowers and violets. A smile slowly formed over her face as she started to turn over the wild seeds for sale. She exchanged the coin for the seedlings, herbs that she would happily grow in her own garden and then use in making her own supper. Basil like her namesake, some oregano. She tucked them into her basket and bowed her head.
Once, a legal transaction would never have dawned on Basil but things changed, man, had things changed. She exited the marketplace where only a few stalls lingered and the streets became quite wide open. She could see the castle and the shadow of Corautmors overpowered the scenery, his shadow blazing over brick and mortar before landing in front of her with a heavy thud. The ground shook slightly and her steps remained unshaken as she approached her partner, giving him a content pat on the snout.
"You are a little big to be hanging around here." She said softly, adjusting the seeds in her basket as she heard the dragon chuckle, a low rumble like the beginning of thunder. In the sun, his scales shone brightly and he bore his teeth in a smile, lips curling upwards. "I don't see anyone complaining."

As per usual, Damien was making his rounds along the many stalls of the marketplace. The people were so used to his presence that they hardly made a scene any more when he appeared randomly. In fact, they would smile at him and offer him baked goods just for showing up! Not that he took them for free; he always paid for the things he received from his loyal fanbase, and he was glad to do so. In fact, this day he had gotten a large amount of cookies from a woman at a stall he frequented often. Now Damien was walking around, hands full of cookies in their wrappers, smiling at those who passed him by. Little girls ran up to him and begged for him to sit so they could adorn him with flower crowns, to which he obliged wholeheartedly. He gave them each a cookie in return, and sighed at the flowers that were now sewn into his hair and outfit. He was about to head back to the castle to give the baked goods to his daughters, but a familiar glint of orange scales caught his attention. He smiled and walked over to the dragon in question, only to take the flower crown from his head to place on the rider before him. Damien knew Basil hated such doting, so he snickered and handed a cookie over to her dragon. "So, my Sweet Basil, what are you doing out and about today? Purchasing goods instead of pinching them for free, I hope?" At this he laughed, winking toward her with a bright grin on his lips. MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

She took it from her scalp almost immediately like it might burn her. Wild white flowers, with the greenery wrapped tightly around it's own stems. Something pretty for a pretty girl but she wasn't pretty. She tossed into the air and Corrie caught it one of his horns, grinning at Basil's frown.
She didn't call him his highness, not when most did. The only thing that proved her respect was the curt nod that was first before she narrowed her eyebrows. Of course she would let the king call her sweet basil without any swordplay but she found her fingers twitching all the same.
"I was enjoying my day but your company says otherwise." She said with annoyance as the dragon took the cookie from the king's hand with thank, nearly taking his hand off without before pulling back and licking thin lips with an even thinner tongue. She huffed, shoulders straight.
"I was purchasing some seeds for my garden. Quite the legal exchange." She added taking the basket from the crook in her arm and holding them out. "Some basil of course, oregano seeds, mint and parsley." She said almost excitedly, the one thing to draw her from her shell was the talk of her garden, a pride and joy among herself and Corautmors who would sometimes add in clearing the land. "No wildflowers yet, not the season." ❚ WORDS - ❚ TAGS; DAMIEN KLEIN ❚ NOTES hey little mama let me whisper in ur ear and tell u about flowers.

It was way too easy to annoy Basil. Damien delighted in every second he could bother her, and it seemed her dragon loved his antics as well. He always thought it funny that an orange had Imprinted upon someone so...bitter, but then again it was said that an Orange could change the hearts of even the nastiest humans. He hoped that could be said for Basil. Some people would find it extremely offensive that she refused to call him 'Your Highness' or bow when he approached. But truth be told, Damien preferred how she spoke to him. They were nearly the same age and he hated always being doted on by those who he called 'friend'. His status didn't matter to Basil, and that only made him like her more. At her annoyance again he snickered, shrugging his shoulders in response. "How could a face like mine dull your day? Isn't it positively astounding?"At this he shoved his face closer to her, doing his best to annoy her further. But she began to brighten up as she spoke on her garden, so he pulled away to cross his arms over his chest. "I see. Basil growing basil...I've heard much about your spices and the like. It's unfair that you've yet to invite me over for dinner, you know."MADE BY ★MEULK OF GS & THQ

He waits to see if the King's dragon comes through. He knows that some dragons don't stay near their owners. Younger wyrms are more likely too, but the older the dragons get, the more independent they become. Not Corrie though. He is rarely far from Basil and she rarely far from him. He bends his head, sniffing the air above the king - tasting biscuits on his tongue and the serpentine tail curls closer to them both - wings settling into his side.
The senior rider frowned, adjusting her basket back to her side. "Astounding? If that's what you call it." She snorts, and bites the inside of her cheek to keep the smile from her mouth as she continues their banter. She grimaces at his face and shakes her head. "I would have used the words positively repugnant. Has much a ring to it."
She scowls. She doesn't cook for many these days, just herself. The kitchens are large and most dragonriders she finds are busy and take whatever they can get. That doesn't mean she won't cook for them all, but there is such a thing as too many cooks in the kitchen and she hates to be frustrated in what should be a calming activity. Corautmors sticks his head into the conversation and grins. "We should have him for dinner." He growls, making the invitation vocal with a purr that rumbles through the air. Basil scowls, turning her head to the orange dragon that chuckles.
"We should not." She snaps, and the chuckles from the orange grow louder, She crosses her arms and looks to the king. "We might invite you and your family to dinner if you had the manners to invite us first." For extra measure, the dragon behind clicks his tongue - a tsk tsk sound that comes from a bright smile from his teeth.

As the Orange dragon's head sniffled the air above him Damien couldn't help but extend his hand out to scratch his snout. Ereneth loved to be petted in such a way, and he assumed the other dragon would like it as well. Speaking of the Bronze, he was probably out flying around or taking a bath in the lake at the Dragonrider's quarters. They weren't ever truly far from one another, just in case. But his attention was brought back to earth as Basil retorted. Damien could only smile wider, crossing his hands over his shoulders as she blocked his request to be invited over for dinner. Something was said between the two, but Damien let it be as the question of being invited to the castle for dinner was brought up. "You think you deserve special treatment for being rude to the king? Now now, my sweet Basil, why would I want to invite someone so stingy over to my home? But Corautmors is more than welcome to visit me anytime! He is the epitome of kindness and I would love to feed him all sorts of goodies at the castle."Inwardly Ereneth groaned, not wanting a younger dragon parading around his castle space. But Damien shoved the thoughts from his mind before continuing on. "What if you made something special and brought it to the castle for dinner? I think that's a pretty good compromise, and my children would love to meet you I'm sure." He snickered then, wondering now Basil would deal with small children crawling all over her and her dragon. They were too much alike, they shared too many ideas. Bah, she would hate to see how they rubbed off on each other. She stands there, sword on her hip as he talks.
Corautmors nods vigorously at the King's offer - the optimistic dragon who did enjoy the company of others, especially enjoyed the company of children. Another way he was opposite to Basil. Basil never liked children, never had the chance to actually explore with them. She had grown up seeing other children as dangerous competition and as her hands grew bloodier, she became more distant, especially from small children, who were deemed fragile in her eyes.
She fidgeted once, as Corrie nudged her shoulder - eyes flickering with determination, the kind of fire that came when he an idea in his head and refused to leave. "Don't worry. I could take care of the kids."She sighed, automatically bending to her dragon's will. 'And what would I bake?" She asked, eyes narrowed. "Hypothetically, It doesn't mean I'm coming." She scoffed, covering up her mistake as the orange dragon behind her started to chuckle. She doubted that whatever she made would be as good as whatever the king ate - after all he had a legion of chefs at his command.
