*Heroic: He will fight for his friends...and really anyone who seems to need help.
-Unwise:Even a thunderstorm is a good time to go flying when you have no common sense.
-Boastful:Just look at him. Doesn't he look like he needs to be taken down a few notches?
-Boorish:Loud, uncivilized street trash and proud of it.
-Goofy:Its time to get serious? You might not want to include this guy.
-Immature:Hopefully he will grow out of this before he becomes senior dragonrider...
history
Chandra Misra is a native of the island, heritage dating back all the way to the first settlers of the island. Unfortunately, this holds no value, as he was born into a desperately poor family that lived in the huts on the outskirts of town. He is the middle upper-ish son of 8 boys and 6 girls, only having a brother and two sisters older than him. With no father in sight all the older siblings had to constantly take care of the younger ones. His older siblings taught him a bunch of neat tricks and martial arts styles like silat, wushu and capoeira, starting him on the gymnastic role that would get him out of poverty.
Only months later as Woodkeep experienced its economic and population boom, Chandra's family sunk further and further into poverty until his mother eventually died from starvation. Heartbroken, the remaining children banded together to try to survive, but the end result was only Chandra, his youngest brother, one of his younger sisters, and his older sister remained. The remaining siblings retreated into the wilderness. During one of Chandra's foraging days, he was suddenly charged at by what was his first encounter with a dragon. Not knowing what else to do, the boy picked up the nearest stick and attacked him with it. The dragon paused from there, seeming to have lost whatever motivation it suddenly had to attack him, and decided to humble itself instead. They formed a bond at that point, and became the best of friends almost immediately.
His older sister, bitter about their situation, got an idea from this. She trained her hardest and became a dragonrider herself, only to use the dragon to cause mayhem on Woodkeep; heists, burglaries, and anything she could profit from was used to care for her younger siblings. Eventually, she was caught and Chandra has yet to hear what happened to her, leaving Chandra to care for the two youngers. He became a street performer in the Woodkeep courtyard, but retained some of his sister's bitterness. Every day, it seemed he would have to do more to prove himself.By 16, he was doing some pretty dangerous stunts for a couple of crumbs and coins, and he hated every bit of it. Sword juggling, tightrope walking, fire dancing; the whole works. He knew he was getting played, and it made the division between him and others all the worse. Chandra spent his free time playing with Surya rather than other kids, seeing how other kids lived in that god forsaken town. Eventually Surya decided he wanted to help him and Chandra perfected a performance involving his dragon, which became a popular attraction that was much more fun and less demanding than all that other garbage. He was offered to become an official dragonrider, which would help support his siblings, so he took the offer much to his (and his brother's) dismay.
Eventually, his talent was shown to be exceptional and he was promoted up the ranks to junior dragonrider. He no longer hated the citizens of Woodkeep for what had happened. After all, working with them meant he had no choice but to grow to live with them. His relationship with his younger brother strained from the moment he agreed to and onwards. The boy eventually just ran away and has been missing since, but his life has been getting better otherwise. He plans on going out to find him, but he doubts he is in much trouble. After all, the kid was probably more talented now than Chandra would ever be.
