ariadne is a princess from a foreign country. naturally this does not lend itself to her having many friends in woodkeep. in fact she has none whatsoever. the only people she knows while coming over are the fishermen who brought her along, and they didn't even stick around. this, however, does not mean she won't make friends on woodkeep. in fact she is quite a sociable young creature once she can get over her initial bashfulness. trained as a princess she is quite polite and very nice, and she's bubbling with questions to ask about the island, about dragons, and about the world itself. furthermore recent immigrants to woodkeep from farkhan might recognize her as the princess.
poor ariadne doesn't want to hurt anyone, but her very presence might cause some trouble for the people of woodkeep. those who know of her plight might realize her being there would add tension between their peaceful island and the nation that tried to invade. not only that, but the fact that the nation had previous hostilities against woodkeep might lead to negative feelings toward those from farkhan.
ariadne grew up as a princess with her head in the clouds, her heart dreaming. this meant all the old tales of knights saving princesses, dragon slaying and dragon riding, even the idea of prince charming all appeals to her. she wears her heart on her sleeves and remains open and vulnerable to the idea of love, ready for her prince, ready to find love during her adventure out into the world alone.
